Quality assurance for application-oriented postgraduate training programs in universities of Vietnam
Researches on quality assurance of training programs at universities in Vietnam have been carried out for nearly 20 years. Educational institutions have been paying much attention to quality assurance when this issue is considered as a competitive factor between universities. According to the data of the Ministry of Education and Training reported in July 31st, 2022, there are 823 training programs that have been evaluated and recognized to meet educational quality standards, in fact 756 training programs are still valid, of which 475 ones are under domestic standards and 281 others under international standards. Ensuring the quality of training programs at universities in Vietnam is constantly improving and adjusting so that the training programs are more and more perfect, integrating with the development of higher education in regional and international countries.
The content of the article focuses on the following issues: 1) Concepts and characteristics of application-oriented training programs at university; 2) Basic contents of training program quality assurance; 3) Debate on some issues raised about quality assurance of training programs in Vietnam today. On that basis, the article gives an overall picture of the issue of quality assurance of training programs, quality assurance of application-oriented training programs, contributing to the implementation of this issue more effectively and qualitatively in the next stage of Vietnamese higher education.
