Working with the Korea Real Estate Board – Expanding Opportunities for Training, Research, and Smart Urban Development

On the afternoon of April 21, Hanoi Metropolitan University held a working session with the Korea Real Estate Board to promote cooperation in education, scientific research, and the implementation of sustainable development projects, particularly in the fields of real estate, urban management, and digital transformation.

Attending the meeting, representatives from the Korea Real Estate Board included Mr. Kim, Head of Development Cooperation, along with members of the delegation. On behalf of Hanoi Metropolitan University, participants included Associate Professor Dr. Do Hong Cuong, President of the University; Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President; and leaders of relevant departments.

During the session, both sides focused on discussing orientations for developing new academic programs, emphasizing the urgent demand for human resources in real estate and land management amid Hanoi’s accelerated urbanization and planning of new growth zones.

Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Do Hong Cuong stated that the University places special importance on launching Real Estate programs, developing online education, and strengthening international cooperation. These are considered strategic priorities to meet the demand for high-quality human resources in the context of smart urban development and deeper global integration. He also expressed the University’s desire to soon translate these discussions into concrete cooperation, particularly in education and research.

At the meeting, Dr. Tran Anh Tuan emphasized the necessity of establishing a long-term Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to ensure stability and sustainability in the partnership, even amid personnel changes. Based on this, the University proposed forming a joint working group to immediately implement agreed initiatives, with the Faculty of Management and Urban Studies serving as the professional focal point.

Another important topic discussed by the University’s Board of Management was the implementation of Net Zero projects involving faculty members and students, particularly in fields such as biotechnology. The Korean side stated that it would facilitate connections with Korean universities and expressed expectations for support from the Korean Government in implementing these collaborative projects. This presents valuable opportunities for students to engage in practical research, strengthen academic capacity, and address global challenges.

Mr. Kim stated that the Korea Real Estate Board, together with ICK, proposed signing an MOU with Hanoi Metropolitan University focusing on scholarship programs in real estate management and smart urban development; organizing conferences and seminars for faculty and students; and connecting international experts for teaching and research. He also highlighted the potential for collaboration in sustainable development initiatives, especially Net Zero projects involving faculty and students, including related fields such as biotechnology. In addition, the Korean side pledged support in connecting the University with Korean universities and expressed confidence in receiving support from the Korean Government for educational cooperation programs. Both sides will also explore the possibility of launching a Land Management specialization in the future.

At the conclusion of the session, both parties agreed to continue discussions, finalize the MOU, and promptly implement specific cooperative activities. The agreed directions are expected to create new opportunities in education, research, and high-quality human resource development, contributing to the University’s internationalization and sustainable development goals.
