The University of Hanoi solemnly held the opening ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year.

On the morning of September 5th, 2025, amidst the joyful atmosphere of the historic autumn season, the University of Hanoi solemnly held the opening ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year and welcomed the new students of the class of 2025. This was a meaningful event marking the beginning of a new academic year filled with hope and expectations.

The ceremony took place at the university’s main campus, with the participation of a large number of delegates, guests, faculty members, parents, and sponsors, including Agribank – Cau Giay Branch, as well as representatives from over 7,000 students from various courses. Notably, the event was also tied to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education, a significant milestone in the history of Vietnam's education.

Opening the program, all attendees, faculty, and students watched the online opening ceremony organized by the Ministry of Education and Training at the National Convention Center, broadcast live on VTV1, connecting all educational institutions across the country with approximately 1.7 million teachers and nearly 30 million students and learners nationwide.

Following that, lively cultural performances by the university’s students brought a joyful, youthful, and vibrant atmosphere to the event.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tuân, Vice Rector of the University of Hanoi, read the letter from President Lương Cường to the education sector on the occasion of the new academic year 2025 – 2026.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, Rector of the University of Hanoi, expressed his joy in welcoming the new students of the class of 2025 and all the students who have chosen the University of Hanoi as the starting point for their knowledge journey and careers. He also emphasized the university's responsibility and aspirations for this new phase.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, Rector of the University of Hanoi, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

Rector Đỗ Hồng Cường urged: “Study with passion, train yourself with determination, and live responsibly for your family and society. Knowledge is not only to affirm oneself but also to contribute to the glory of the university and serve the capital and the country. University students must be global citizens, confident in integration while preserving their cultural identity; creative in thinking but humane in action; excellent in professional knowledge and rich in social responsibility. You are the embodiment of the nation’s future and the hope for us to confidently move forward.”

Welcoming the 2025 – 2026 academic year, all faculty, staff, and students of the University of Hanoi are committed to: creating a creative, humane, and dynamic learning environment, aiming for a "lifelong learning" spirit; developing high-quality training programs linked to social needs and international integration; enhancing scientific cooperation and research tied to practical applications, innovation, and entrepreneurship; and nurturing the courage, intellect, and aspirations of students.

As part of the ceremony, the university honored and awarded prizes to the top scorers of the 2025 regular university entrance exam. This recognition celebrates the academic efforts of the new students and encourages the learning and development spirit of all students.

Immediately after the ceremony, departments and institutes across the university will organize welcome programs for new students at various locations. In the evening of the same day, the Gala Welcome for the class of 2025 will take place at the outdoor stage of Campus 1, promising to offer unforgettable experiences for the new students.
