Students of Hanoi Metropolitan University Shine at Genesis 2024 – Kinhtedothi
Kinhtedothi – At the national final of the Genesis – Creative Startup Ideas for Female Students 2024 competition, students from Hanoi Metropolitan University triumphed over 15 outstanding teams from across the country to win a double of the top awards.
The Genesis – Creative Startup Ideas for Female Students 2024 competition serves as an intellectual platform to encourage female students to showcase creative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation capacity across various fields.
With three main categories—Business, Social, and Technology—the competition provided opportunities for participating teams to present, defend, and persuade the jury of the feasibility and potential of their projects.
The organizing committee awarded the First Prize to the StarEdu team from the Faculty of Education, Hanoi Metropolitan University.
In the final round, the Faculty of Education made a strong impression with the project titled “Developing a Learning Resource System to Support Escape Skills Education for Primary School Students,” which earned StarEdu the First Prize.
The project was developed by two students, Đỗ Khánh Linh and Nguyễn Thu Trang, under the dedicated guidance of lecturers MSc. Nguyễn Diệp Ngọc and MSc. Đỗ Thị Ngọc Quỳnh from the Faculty of Education. This project represents a year of commitment by the team and had previously won the First Prize at the faculty level and the Special Prize at the university level.
Sharing the core idea of the project, the authors explained that it aims to create a learning environment where primary school students can both acquire life-saving skills and engage in play. After learning the skills, children will be better prepared to handle dangerous situations. Moreover, the project promotes connection between parents and children, enabling joint learning through flashcards and games. The learning materials system also supports teachers by optimizing the preparation process for lesson plans, teaching aids during experiential activities, life skills education, and classroom sessions.
Beyond fire escape skills, the team envisions future development of material sets on other scenarios such as elevator escape, school bullying, drowning, sexual abuse prevention, and online safety.
According to the organizers, the project “Developing a Learning Resource System to Support Escape Skills Education for Primary School Students” stood out due to its creativity, uniqueness, diversity, and strong social and humanistic values. It also highlighted the critical importance of equipping primary students with knowledge and escape skills.
In addition to winning First Prize, the StarEdu team from Hanoi Metropolitan University was also voted Most Favorite Team.
Alongside the double win, other female students from Hanoi Metropolitan University also secured two Consolation Prizes with the projects The Light (a business plan for The Light Travel company) and AuroraEdu (an application supporting social skill development for children with autism spectrum disorder).
