STRATEGIC UNIVERSITY–ENTERPRISE COOPERATION: Opportunities for Hanoi Metropolitan University Hospitality Management Students to Master Digital Technology

Recently, Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with DiHotel Solutions Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City). This marks an important milestone in the University’s strategy to accelerate digital transformation and enhance practical training quality, enabling students to gain early access to five-star standard operational technology solutions directly in the classroom.
The event was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University; Dr. Dang Thi Minh Hien, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Tourism; representatives of DiHotel leadership; and numerous lecturers and students. The signing affirms the strong commitment of both parties to upgrading educational quality and opening practical pathways for Hanoi Metropolitan University students in the context of global integration.

A key highlight of the agreement is DiHotel’s long-term sponsorship package worth VND 2 billion for the University. The company has committed to providing, installing, and offering free training for a premium Property Management System (PMS) — a professional hotel management platform currently used by more than 250 major tourism organizations. This PMS system will be directly integrated into the curriculum, enabling students to comprehensively master essential management modules, including Front Office (FO), Sales, Housekeeping (HK), Accounting (ACC), Point of Sale (POS), Human Resource Management (HRM), and Procurement (PO).
Early exposure to a modern management system while still at university goes beyond simply learning to use a tool — it is a process of developing operational thinking based on real-world workflows. This allows HNMU students to build professional reflexes, master international-standard workflow logic, and gain the “passport” to confidently enter real working environments without hesitation. It also empowers them to effectively manage complex digital platforms and significantly shorten adaptation time within enterprises.

Moreover, proficiency in specialized PMS software creates a competitive advantage for students in the eyes of employers. Instead of retraining new hires from scratch, multinational hotel corporations can immediately access a pool of high-quality human resources capable of direct operational performance. This opens broader career advancement opportunities and strengthens the position of HNMU students in both domestic and international labor markets.
In addition to software sponsorship, DiHotel has also committed to dispatching experienced experts for direct training sessions, welcoming students for company visits and internships, and prioritizing employment opportunities after graduation. This partnership is expected to establish close and long-term collaboration between Hanoi Metropolitan University and DiHotel Solutions Joint Stock Company across teaching, practice, internships, and career development activities. The enterprise’s practical support helps the University move closer to its goal of improving comprehensive educational quality, meeting labor market demands, and contributing to the development of a new-generation hospitality workforce — one that is not only theoretically strong but also professionally skilled, especially in digital competencies.
