Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Cuong, President of Hanoi Metropolitan University

Delivering the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Cuong, President of Hanoi Metropolitan University, emphasized that the event responded to the nationwide campaign promoting physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh advised, “For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people” and stressed that "To build socialism, we must cultivate socialist people." He clearly stated: "Under a democratic regime, sports and physical exercise must become a mass activity to enhance the health of the people. When the people are healthy, every task can be accomplished successfully." He affirmed: "Thus, practicing physical exercise and maintaining health is the duty of every patriotic citizen." From this, he initiated the motto: "We should promote a widespread physical exercise and sports movement."

With the spirit of "Healthy for work – Healthy for dedication – Healthy for building and defending the country," the festival also conveyed a message of connection, encouragement of sportsmanship, and enhancement of the cultural and spiritual life of staff, lecturers, and workers—those tirelessly devoted to the noble cause of "cultivating people." President Do Hong Cuong expressed his belief that, with the spirit of "solidarity, honesty, nobility, and healthy joy," all athletes would compete enthusiastically and deliver exciting performances. Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee and the referees would work fairly and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the festival.

During the event, union members actively participated in three sports: tug of war, badminton, and table tennis, with competitions across 20 categories.
In the final results, the Organizing Committee awarded:

  • First Prize: Hanoi Metropolitan University

  • Second Prize: Hanoi High Technology College

  • Third Prize: Vietnam–Korea Vocational College of Hanoi
