Preliminary Survey of Hanoi Metropolitan University

On the morning of July 8, the external evaluation expert team from Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation conducted a preliminary survey with Hanoi Metropolitan University regarding the external assessment of the University's training programs.

Attending the survey were Dr. Nguyễn Văn Đường, Director of the Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation, along with experts and members of the evaluation team. Representing the university in the working session were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, Rector of the University, along with leaders of departments, faculty members, and staff.

In his speech at the survey session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Chairman of the University Council of Hanoi Metropolitan University, emphasized that education quality accreditation plays a crucial role. It is not only a compliance activity but also a valuable opportunity for the university to review all aspects of its operations—from personnel and teaching staff, training programs, and infrastructure, to student support services and scientific research. This process allows for an objective assessment of both strengths and areas needing improvement, providing the University with a comprehensive and realistic view of its quality. From there, the University can define a sustainable development direction, build a specific roadmap to enhance education quality, and better meet the expectations of society and learners.

During the preliminary survey, both parties discussed general information about the university and reviewed initial documents and evidence to support the evaluation process. They also agreed on the working plan and procedures to ensure smooth and effective coordination between Hanoi Metropolitan University and the external evaluation team throughout the upcoming official survey.

To prepare for the official evaluation, scheduled from July 19 to 23, 2025, Hanoi Metropolitan University has established dedicated working groups, assigning specific responsibilities to departments and individuals for the collection, organization, and provision of supporting documents. The university has also reviewed and finalized relevant documents and procedures to ensure that all information provided is accurate and transparent. The University reaffirmed its commitment to fully cooperate and create the most favorable conditions for the evaluation team to successfully fulfill its mission.

During the working session, representatives of the external evaluation team shared some initial observations and assessments based on the preliminary survey at the university, and outlined the plan for the official evaluation. The team highly appreciated the university’s thorough preparation in terms of working conditions, document lists, supporting evidence, infrastructure, and identified interviewees. The external evaluation team requested that the university continue its close coordination and readiness to ensure that the official survey proceeds smoothly in the coming days.

At the conclusion of the working session, the parties proceeded to sign the Memorandum of Understanding following the preliminary survey for the external evaluation of the University's training programs.
