Logistics students of Hanoi Metropolitan University won First Prize at the YOUNG LOGGER competition.

With the aim of enhancing students’ awareness and intellectual capacity in green logistics and sustainable supply chains, FPT Polytechnic College recently organized the YOUNG LOGGER competition under the theme “Green Logistics – For a Sustainable Future.”
Cuộc thi thu hút sự tham gia của 33 đội thi từ 8 trường đại học, cao đẳng.

The competition attracted 33 teams from 8 universities and colleges.

The event also helped students develop analytical thinking, presentation, and academic debate skills while connecting theoretical knowledge with practical issues in the logistics industry within the context of sustainable development.

Launched in March 2026, the competition drew participation from 33 teams representing 8 universities and colleges, including FPT Polytechnic College; Academy of Policy and Development; East Asia University of Technology; Phenikaa University; University of Transport Technology; Foreign Trade University Ho Chi Minh City Campus 2; Hanoi Metropolitan University; and Hanoi Polytechnic Technology College.

Following the preliminary round, four teams advanced to the final round: Team Luto from East Asia University of Technology; Team Loki from Phenikaa University; Team 4 Bees from FPT Polytechnic College; and Team CapiGreen from Hanoi Metropolitan University.

During the final round on April 8, the teams presented their projects on green logistics topics before the judging panel, then drew lots to form two cross-debate pairs and engaged in academic debates. The judges also posed direct questions to assess each team’s critical thinking, reasoning, and debate abilities.

According to the final results, First Prize went to Team CapiGreen from Hanoi Metropolitan University; Second Prize to Team Loki from Phenikaa University; Third Prize to Team 4 Bees from FPT Polytechnic College; and the Consolation Prize to Team Luto from East Asia University of Technology.

According to the Organizing Committee, the First Prize-winning project, titled “A Data-Driven Platform for Empty Container Optimization,” was highly praised for its innovative approach to solving the empty container problem through data-driven strategies rather than traditional manual optimization. The project not only optimized individual operational stages but aimed to improve the entire logistics network while simultaneously reducing costs and emissions. Notably, the concept was developed as a scalable platform capable of connecting multiple stakeholders across the logistics ecosystem.

Other award-winning ideas also focused on addressing bottlenecks in logistics and environmental issues through green and digital transformation. These included proposals for a two-way freight connection platform to reduce empty truck runs, optimize costs, and cut emissions; a smart e-waste collection and recycling model using digital technologies to manage the full lifecycle of waste toward a circular economy; and integrated logistics management software combining warehouse and transportation management on one platform to improve business efficiency. These projects demonstrated students’ ability to apply technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT to solve real-world challenges, highlighting their growing problem-solving mindset and practical application skills.
