Improving English capacity with Fulbright scholarship program

Aiming to improve English capacity as well as to introduce scholarship opportunities to lecturers, staffs, and students, Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) had a meeting with representative of Fulbright scholarship program – The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam on 22 Feb 2017.

Aiming to improve English capacity as well as to introduce scholarship opportunities to lecturers, staffs, and students, Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) had a meeting with representative of Fulbright scholarship program – The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam on 22 Feb 2017.

The event attracted the attendance of the Program Assistant Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh; Vice Rector of HNMU Prof. Dang Van Soa; lecturers, staffs, and students of HNMU.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dang Van Soa thanked the attention and support of Fulbright Program to HNMU. This is a necessary scholarship program for not only HMNU but also all schools in Viet Nam, he said.

At the meeting, participants listened to lecturer in the Faculty of Foreign Languages MA. Nguyen Thi Huong, who worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin – USA, reported on her Fulbright scholarship searching experience and teaching activity in USA.

The Program Assistant Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh also introduced more information on this scholarship program.  Accordingly, the U.S has the best universities system in the world with excellent training programs in almost every field. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

Currently, the Fulbright Program operates in over 155 countries worldwide. Since 1992, more than 500 Vietnamese students have been selected to participate in the Program. Approximately 20 to 25 fully-funded scholarships are granted on an annual basis. The Fulbright Grant is a full-scholarship that covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare to the U.S. and health insurance.
