Hanoi Metropolitan University students continue to embody a strong spirit of community service

On the morning of April 16, the blood donation festival "Heart of the Capital", co-organized by Hanoi Metropolitan University and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, took place in an atmosphere filled with energy and warmth.

The event has always received strong support and attention from the University’s leadership, along with enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, Rector of Hanoi Metropolitan University, visited and encouraged students, lifting their spirits during the event.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tuân, Vice Rector of the University, also offered words of motivation, hoping students would continue to nurture the passionate and caring spirit of youth through volunteer activities.

The University leadership team took commemorative photos at the event.

With confidence and happiness in taking part in such a meaningful act, Đậu Thị Giang, a third-year student from the Faculty of Special Education, shared her touching story about how she became involved in voluntary blood donation. Her father is a leukemia patient.

"The time I spent by my father's side helped me truly understand how vital each unit of blood is to a patient. That’s also my biggest motivation to donate blood whenever I can. This year’s event coincides with World Hemophilia Day, so I want to send encouragement to all those living with the condition. I hope they stay strong, optimistic, and know they are never alone," Giang shared emotionally.

Having a close friend working at Hanoi Metropolitan University, Nguyễn Dung Hòa quickly registered to participate upon hearing about the event. Having donated blood more than ten times, she expressed her wish that everyone in good health should donate regularly, helping ensure a stable blood supply for patients in need.

True to its message "Give love – Receive love", the program also served as a meaningful opportunity for students of Hanoi Metropolitan University to connect, engage, and unleash the vibrant spirit of youth burning in their hearts.

Smiles of happiness lit up the faces of many as they participated in the blood donation.

Trần Thị Hiền, a student from the Faculty of Primary Education and the 100th donor of the morning, also shared her thoughts on this meaningful gesture. She expressed hope that each and every day, those suffering from blood-related illnesses will feel the love and companionship of the community, and maintain their faith in achieving better outcomes..
