Hanoi Metropolitan University Signs Cooperation Program with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2026–2030 Period

 

With four pillars of cooperation, including friendship and solidarity, education and training, mobilization of non-governmental aid, and external communications, the program is expected to create momentum for international integration, enhance educational quality, strengthen connections with international resources, and promote the image of Hanoi to friends around the world. 

On the morning of June 3, 2026, Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) hosted the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Program for the 2026–2030 period between the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) and Hanoi Metropolitan University. The event marked a new milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two institutions, aiming to leverage the strengths of each side in people-to-people diplomacy, international integration in education, digital transformation, and resource mobilization for the development of the Capital.

Attending the program, representatives from the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations included Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky, President of the Union; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Standing Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Vice President; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Secretary General and Chief of Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Chief of Office; along with leaders of the Hanoi Vietnam–Singapore Friendship Association, the Hanoi UNESCO Association, the Hanoi Vietnam–China Friendship Association, and other members of the delegation.

Representing Hanoi Metropolitan University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Cuong, Rector of the University; Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; together with leaders of the University’s departments, faculties/institutes, and centers.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University, emphasized that cooperation with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations—an institution with a strong reputation and an extensive international network—would create numerous opportunities for the University to realize its strategic goals in international integration, improve training quality, and expand multilateral cooperation. Dr. Tran Anh Tuan affirmed that the University would provide all favorable conditions in terms of facilities and human resources to effectively implement the cooperation contents, while expressing his expectation that the program would bring practical benefits to the University’s staff, lecturers, and students in the context of global integration.

He expressed confidence that the partnership with Hanoi Metropolitan University would contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of international cooperation activities of both the Union and the University in the coming years.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Cuong, Rector of Hanoi Metropolitan University, affirmed that the University would actively collaborate with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations to effectively implement the agreed commitments, particularly in the fields of education and training, international friendship exchanges, mobilization of international resources, and external communications. The Rector emphasized that translating the cooperation contents into practical programs and activities would contribute to improving the quality of education and scientific research, enhancing international integration capacity for the University’s staff, lecturers, and students, while also making a positive contribution to the sustainable development of Hanoi in the new period.

By leveraging the strengths and resources of both parties, the cooperation program is expected to enhance the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy, expand international cooperation, strengthen connections with international resources for the development of education, training, and scientific research at the University, while also promoting the image of Hanoi Metropolitan University and the dynamic, friendly, and culturally rich Capital of Hanoi to international friends. The program is expected to make meaningful contributions to the cause of education, training, and international integration of the Capital in the new era.
