Hanoi Metropolitan University organizes the Defense and Security Education Sports Festival for the 2025 cohort – Phase 1

The University’s leaders presented awards to students who achieved prizes at the Sports Festival.
Attending the Sports Festival were Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Dong Duc, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Defense & Security Education; M.A. Nguyen Duc Quang, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Defense & Security Education; Dr. Pham Dinh Tam, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Defense & Security Education; Dr. Dao Truong Thanh, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs; M.A. Ha Thu Thuy, Deputy Head of the Department of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs; M.A. Nguyen Tri Dung, Deputy Head of the Department of Administration – Facilities – Management; M.A. Quach Hai Duong, Director of the General Services Center; along with lecturers teaching the Defense and Security Education module and more than 300 students studying at Campus 2.

Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President of the University, delivered the opening speech at the Sports Festival.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President of Hanoi Metropolitan University, emphasized the importance of the Defense and Security Education module in cultivating students’ resilience, discipline, sense of responsibility, and patriotism. At the same time, the University’s leader encouraged all students participating in the Sports Festival, hoping that they would promote the spirit of “Solidarity – Discipline – Honesty – Responsibility – Determination to Win,” compete with full dedication, strictly follow regulations, and ensure safety throughout the event. The Vice President affirmed that with thorough preparation, a strong sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm from both lecturers and students, the Sports Festival would be organized successfully, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.



Competition events at the Sports Festival.
The competition categories at the Sports Festival were designed in accordance with the characteristics of the Defense and Security Education module, including morning physical exercises, unit formation drills, AK submachine gun shooting techniques using the MBT-03 simulation shooting system, blanket and bedding arrangement, and tug of war. These activities not only assessed students’ skills, discipline, and teamwork abilities but also created an exciting and competitive atmosphere among platoons, classes, and student groups.
The Defense and Security Education Sports Festival for the 2025 cohort provided an opportunity for Hanoi Metropolitan University to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching organization and training activities for the Defense and Security Education module at Campus 2. At the same time, the event contributed to enhancing comprehensive education quality, helping students not only acquire professional knowledge but also develop resilience, discipline, physical fitness, a sense of responsibility, and civic awareness.

The University’s Board of Management took a commemorative photo with more than 300 students studying at Campus 2.
With the coordination of various units within the University, the Sports Festival was organized in a formal, safe, and effective manner, ensuring compliance with the planned content, schedule, and objectives. The event also contributed to building a positive, connected, and disciplined learning environment, creating memorable experiences during the period when students of the 2025 cohort studied and trained at Campus 2 of Hanoi Metropolitan University.
