A Transformation Driven by the Practical Requirements of the 2018 General Education Program
The implementation of the 2018 General Education Program marked a significant transformation in Vietnam’s education system with the introduction of integrated subjects at the lower secondary education level. This development has created an urgent demand for a professionally trained teaching workforce capable of delivering interdisciplinary instruction.
In response to this pressing need, Hanoi Metropolitan University has taken the initiative by officially enrolling students in two new programs from 2026: Natural Science Teacher Education and History and Geography Teacher Education. This milestone not only contributes to providing high-quality human resources for the education sector in Hanoi and across the country but also creates valuable opportunities for learners to become pioneering teachers in the new educational landscape with promising career prospects.
Modern Training Programs with an Application-Oriented and Practical Approach

Students will regularly engage in laboratory practice, participate in innovation projects, and complete two teaching internships at lower secondary schools and high-quality interdisciplinary schools in Hanoi.
The History and Geography Teacher Education program enables students to connect historical and geographical knowledge with cultural, social, environmental, and sustainable development issues. Students will develop competencies in integrated teaching, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, modern teaching technologies, and advanced assessment methods. Notably, students will participate in two professional field trips to areas with significant geographical, geological, and historical heritage values, along with two practical teaching internships. These activities help students develop the ability to design integrated lessons and effectively utilize digital learning resources.
Attractive Support Policies and Wide Career Opportunities
As the country continues to strongly implement the new education program, the demand for teachers capable of teaching integrated subjects in schools is currently very high. Therefore, graduates of these two programs will have strong employment opportunities after graduation.
