Hanoi Metropolitan University joins hands to overcome the consequences of the 2025 floods.

The activity reflected the spirit of solidarity and sharing in supporting students overcoming difficulties after natural disasters, as well as the proactive and timely role of the University in caring for student welfare.
On the morning of November 5, the Trade Union and Youth Union of Hanoi Metropolitan University jointly organized the closing program of “Joining hands to overcome the consequences of the 2025 floods” and provided support to students affected by the disaster.
Attending the program were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, President of Hanoi Metropolitan University, along with representatives of unit leaders, the Trade Union, the Youth Union, and students.

Master Hà Thu Thủy, Secretary of the University Youth Union, emphasized the goals and significance of the program.
Opening the program, Master Hà Thu Thủy, Secretary of the University Youth Union and Deputy Head of the Department of Training Management & Student Affairs, emphasized the goals and significance of the activity—aiming to share and promptly encourage students facing difficulties after the disaster, reinforcing their confidence and determination in their studies. She also affirmed the roles of the Trade Union and Youth Union in accompanying students and spreading the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility.


The University presented 46 support gifts to students whose families suffered severe damage due to the floods.
After 15 days of mobilization, the program received enthusiastic contributions from staff, lecturers, and students, with a total donation amount of 114,309,789 VND. All contributions will be delivered directly to: staff, lecturers, and students affected by the floods; Trung Giã Commune, Hanoi (a neighboring area near Campus 2 of the University, a low-lying riverside area where many families had to evacuate urgently); and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (according to the publicly announced account number). The University also prepared 46 support packages and presented them directly to students whose families were severely affected by the floods.

Representing the supported students, Võ Thị Phương Thảo from the Primary Education program expressed her heartfelt and profound gratitude to the University. She shared that the timely attention and support from the University is a great source of motivation for her and her peers to stay strong, keep striving in their studies and training, and continue spreading the spirit of mutual support nurtured by the University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường shared words of encouragement with students facing difficulties after the disaster.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường, President of Hanoi Metropolitan University, extended warm words of encouragement to the students encountering hardships. He emphasized that material support is only one part; more importantly, the University hopes to strengthen students’ confidence and resilience so they can overcome challenges and continue their studies and self-development. He also acknowledged and praised the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility demonstrated by the University’s staff, lecturers, and students.
The program is not only a meaningful humanitarian activity but also spreads a message of compassion, inspiring unity, love, and community orientation within Hanoi Metropolitan University. These positive values have always been cherished and upheld by the University and its Youth–Student organizations throughout its development journey.
