Hanoi Metropolitan University held a meeting and celebration in honor of the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day.

On the morning of March 27, the University Sports and Professional Association of Hanoi Metropolitan University held a meeting program to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2026). The event was an opportunity to review the University’s achievements in physical education and sports while recognizing and honoring collectives and individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of sports movements in recent years.

Attending the gathering were Dr. Trần Anh Tuấn, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President, and Chairman of the University Sports and Professional Association; Dr. Bùi Quốc Hoàn, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tuân, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President; along with representatives of University units, the Trade Union, Youth Union, members of the Sports Association Executive Committee, representatives of sports clubs, and athletes who are staff, lecturers, and students of Hanoi Metropolitan University.

Dr. Trần Anh Tuấn, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President, and Chairman of the University Sports and Professional Association, delivered the opening speech.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Trần Anh Tuấn extended congratulations to all staff, lecturers, and students participating in the University’s sports activities, while acknowledging the dedication and efforts of the Faculty of Physical Education over the years. He expressed his hope that the Faculty would continue to strengthen its role in improving physical health, fostering resilience, and building healthy lifestyles for students, thereby contributing to the University’s goal of comprehensive education. Despite existing challenges, he emphasized his confidence that through responsibility, unity, and determination, the University community would continue advancing sports movements in a strong and sustainable direction.

The Board of Rectors honored physical education staff, lecturers, and individuals with outstanding achievements in sports activities.

On this occasion, the University also congratulated and rewarded the Executive Committee of the University Sports and Professional Association, physical education staff and lecturers, and individuals who have actively contributed to sports development. This meaningful activity reflected the University’s appreciation and recognition of sustained contributions to promoting physical fitness and sports throughout the institution.

E&P GLOBAL Joint Stock Company sponsored VND 250,000,000 for the University’s sports activities.

During the ceremony, Hanoi Metropolitan University also received sponsorship from E&P GLOBAL Joint Stock Company totaling VND 250 million for sports activities. This practical support demonstrated the company’s commitment to accompanying the University in developing its sports movement. The sponsorship will help improve conditions for training, competitions, and sports exchanges, while motivating staff, lecturers, and students to actively improve physical fitness, enhance health and well-being, and contribute to a dynamic, healthy educational environment.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Đông Đức, Vice Chairman of the Association and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education – National Defense and Security Education, delivered the closing remarks.

In his concluding speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Đông Đức emphasized the significance of the support and companionship from the University leadership and related units in advancing sports development, while expressing hope for continued cooperation and support in the future.

       The meeting celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day at Hanoi Metropolitan University concluded in an atmosphere of joy, warmth, and unity. The event not only honored contributions to the University’s sports movement but also helped spread the spirit of physical training and foster a healthy, active cultural life among staff, lecturers, and students.
