Final Round of the “University-level Student Scientific Research Award for the Academic Year 2023–2024”

On June 21, the Final Round of the "Scientific Research Student Awards for the 2023–2024 Academic Year" at Hanoi Metropolitan University took place successfully. The competition honored 02 First Prizes, 04 Second Prizes, and 06 Third Prizes.
In attendance were distinguished guests including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Thanh, former Vice Director of the Institute of Literature, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Bích Hường from the Military Logistics Academy; Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hương Quỳnh from the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Education and Training; and Dr. Nguyễn Thành Nam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, University of Culture. From Hanoi Metropolitan University, the event was graced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Bùi Quốc Hoàn, Vice Rector of the University, along with heads of departments, faculty members, and students whose research projects were selected for the final round of the university-level student scientific research competition for the 2023–2024 academic year.

In his speech at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn emphasized that the Student Scientific Research Awards is an annual competition organized by Hanoi Metropolitan University with the aim of helping students reinforce and deepen their theoretical knowledge, familiarize themselves with methods of critical thinking and scientific research, and thereby gain opportunities to address real-world socio-economic challenges. The competition also serves as a platform for students across the university to contribute and dedicate their efforts to the university’s educational mission.
Throughout its development journey, Hanoi Metropolitan University has consistently prioritized appropriate investment and support in alignment with its student-centered approach, viewing students as the core and driving force of institutional development. Scientific research activities among students have created opportunities for both lecturers and students to exchange academic ideas and collaborate on research, fostering a positive momentum that enhances scientific inquiry within the university. These efforts contribute significantly to the training of high-quality human resources, talent development, and the overall progress of the city.
During the organization of the program, the Organizing Committee received 39 research projects submitted by outstanding students and their supervising lecturers, selected from a total of 138 entries submitted by academic units throughout the university in the Preliminary Round. Through a rigorous review process, involving experts both from within and outside the university, 6 exceptional projects were selected for the Final Round.
The Final Round of the Student Scientific Research Awards, featuring these 6 excellent projects, reflected the hard work, determination, and academic commitment of the students and their supervisors. It marked an initial but significant step in the improvement of both the quality and attractiveness of student scientific research activities at Hanoi Metropolitan University.
After a thorough and professional evaluation, the Organizing Committee selected 02 First Prizes, 04 Second Prizes, and 06 Outstanding Third Prizes, representing the best of the 39 student research projects competing in the 2023–2024 Student Scientific Research Awards at Hanoi Metropolitan University.

The First Prizes were awarded to two outstanding research projects: “Designing and Utilizing Teaching Aids to Integrate Gender Education into the Topic 'Humans and Health' in Primary School Science Classes” by the author group Hoàng Thị Hương Giang, Trần Minh Ngọc, and Đỗ Thị Minh Ánh (Faculty of Education); and “Building a Data System of Factors Influencing Students’ Graduation Outcomes Using a Machine Learning Approach: A Case Study at Hanoi Metropolitan University” by the author group Nguyễn Hồng Hoa, Trần Quỳnh Ngân, and Hoàng Thị Thu Trang (Faculty of Education).

The Second Prizes were awarded to four research projects: “Designing Experiential Learning Projects in Teaching Literary Reading Comprehension for Grade 6 with a Focus on Local Cultural Elements in Hanoi” by the author group Phùng Minh Châu, Vũ Thị Quỳnh Phương, and Lê Kiều Trang (Faculty of Education); “A Study on the Characteristics of Temporal Adverbs in Modern Chinese from Three Linguistic Perspectives” by the author group Dương Diễm Hằng and Trần Thị Hồng Ngọc (Faculty of Foreign Languages); “Developing a Comic Book Series on Social Stories for Gender Education for Children with Intellectual Disabilities Aged 5–6 at Specialized Centers in Hanoi” by the author group Hoàng Thị Phương, Phí Thị Quỳnh Trang, and Trần Khánh Huyền (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities); and “Developing Experiential Tourism through Hanoi’s Culinary Culture” by the author group Nguyễn Thị Hân, Hoàng Thuỳ Dương, Bùi Yến Vy, Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Thảo, Lê Phương Hà Anh, Cao Thị Huyền Trang, Vũ Ngọc Mai, Lê Bích Diệp, and Bế Thị Như Quỳnh (Faculty of Culture and Tourism).


These are outstanding and dedicated scientific projects that showcase the creative thinking, professional knowledge, and the ability of students from Hanoi Metropolitan University to approach and solve practical scientific problems. They also serve as a foundation for participation in higher-level competitions and awards for student scientific research.
