Final Round of HNMU Innovation and Startup Competition 2025

On June 20, 2025, Hanoi Metropolitan University held the Final Round of the “HNMU Innovation and Startup” competition for the 2024–2025 academic year, featuring 9 outstanding ideas/projects presented by students from various faculties across the university.
The event was attended by Dr. Bùi Quốc Hoàn – Vice Rector of the University and Chair of the Evaluation Council; Ms. Bùi Thị Ngần – Deputy General Director of Nova Education Technology Joint Stock Company; Dr. Đinh Thị Kim Thương – Deputy Head of the Office of Science and Technology Management and Development Cooperation; MSc. Hà Thu Thủy – Secretary of the Youth Union, along with experts, supervising lecturers, and a large number of students interested in innovative startups.

The competition is an annual event aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit among students, providing a platform for young people to realize their ideas, connect with investors, and enhance their skills in business planning, presentation, and critical thinking. It also serves as a practical academic playground where students can develop problem-solving abilities, creativity, and design thinking—core competencies in modern higher education.

The professional council worked impartially and conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on criteria such as creativity, feasibility, social impact, and commercialization potential of each idea. Many projects were assessed to have the potential to grow into real startup models if they continue to receive mentorship and development support. The final results were as follows:
First Prize:
Project “Developing a handbook on sex education and abuse prevention exercises for children with ASD” by the student group Chu Mai Hương, Khổng Thị Tuyết, Nguyễn Khánh Ly, Nguyễn Thị Thùy Dung, Mai Ngọc Ánh, supervised by ThS. Vũ Thị Anh – Faculty of Education.
Project “Sleepless Night Tour – Stay Awake with Hanoi” by the student group Cao Thị Huyền Trang, Lê Phương Hà Anh, Hoàng Thùy Dương, Nguyễn Thị Minh Tâm, Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Thảo, supervised by ThS. Trần Ngọc Diệp and ThS. Hà Thùy Linh – Faculty of Economics & Tourism.
Second Prize:
Project “Household Ceramic Business Project” by the student group Trần Nữ Diệp Chi and Trần Thị Hoa, supervised by TS. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thủy – Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Project “Applying Artificial Intelligence in Green Lifestyle Education for Primary School Students” by the student group Nguyễn Hà Phương, Vũ Nguyễn Thanh Huyền, Lưu Vĩnh Thanh, Đinh Thị Thùy Dương, Cao Khánh Linh, supervised by ThS. Nguyễn Diệp Ngọc and ThS. Đỗ Thị Ngọc Quỳnh – Faculty of Education.
Third Prize:
Project “Virtual Experiment Website in Primary Science Teaching” – Faculty of Education.
Project “Digital Citizenship Skills Education Content for Grades 1 and 2 and a Supporting Web Application Platform” – Faculty of Mathematics – IT.
Project “Building an Internal Brand Identity for QNAB TECH” – Faculty of Mathematics – IT.
Project “Handmade Recycling Workshop – Touching the Green Future” – Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Project “AI Health & Beauty Care – At-Home Health and Beauty Service” – Faculty of Foreign Languages.
In the closing remarks, Dr. Trần Quốc Hoàn highly appreciated the quality of the projects, particularly their applicability and the students’ confident, professional presentation skills. Many ideas are expected to continue developing and be refined to participate in city-level and national competitions or to connect with enterprises and innovation support funds. The competition is not only a nurturing ground for potential business projects but also a vivid testament to the bravery, innovative thinking, and aspirations for self-affirmation of students at Hanoi Metropolitan University in the era of global integration.
