Conference on the Review of the 2024–2025 Academic Year and Key Tasks for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Hanoi Metropolitan University presented a report summarizing its activities in the 2024–2025 academic year, proposed key directions and tasks for the new academic year, and engaged in discussions and contributions regarding the University’s activities.

From July 27 to 30, 2025, Hanoi Metropolitan University conducted a working trip to Da Nang City, with the main focus being the organization of the 2024–2025 Academic Year-End Conference and setting out key directions and tasks for the 2025–2026 academic year. In addition, representatives of the University also participated in visits, study tours, and cooperation exchanges with several universities in Da Nang. 

At the Year-End Conference held on July 28, Hanoi Metropolitan University presented a report summarizing its activities during the 2024–2025 academic year, proposed key directions and tasks for the new academic year, and engaged in discussions and contributions on the University’s operations.

The 2024–2025 academic year marked significant progress in training, scientific research, and the expansion of domestic and international cooperation at Hanoi Metropolitan University. The outstanding results recorded at the conference serve as clear evidence of the collective efforts and unity of all faculty, staff, and students.

In this academic year, the University has 439 staff and faculty members, including 10 Associate Professors, 89 PhDs, 267 Masters, 52 with Bachelor’s degrees, and 21 with other qualifications. The total number of students currently enrolled is 9,023, of which more than 7,000 are full-time undergraduate students.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, Hanoi Metropolitan University successfully recruited a sufficient number of students to match the assigned enrollment targets. In addition, admission scores for all majors increased compared to 2023, particularly in teacher training programs. The University was assigned by the Hanoi People’s Committee to train 1,113 teacher education students, and notified by the Ministry of Education and Training to train 1,390 students in non-teacher education majors and 901 teacher education students. The University reviewed and adjusted 28 undergraduate programs, and was approved by the Ministry of Education and Training to offer two new teacher training programs: Informatics Teacher Education and English Teacher Education. The University also effectively organized professional practicum programs for students across all faculties and majors.

Regarding bridging programs, in 2024, the University enrolled three part-time undergraduate classes in the following majors: Primary Education, Literature Teacher Education, Business Administration, Hotel Management, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Public Management, Information Technology, Chinese Language, and Physical Education.

In postgraduate training, the University organized two master’s admissions rounds and two doctoral admissions rounds, achieving 96.96% of the assigned enrollment quota. As a result, the University admitted 240 master’s students and 15 doctoral candidates. All master’s classes completed their studies on schedule, ensuring quality, and defended their theses/projects in compliance with regulations.

In professional training and certification, the University provided professional title training for lecturers to 1,414 participants, and trained 975 participants in Natural Sciences and History–Geography. Additionally, 1,300 participants attended preparatory courses for the basic IT application certificate exam.

In 2024–2025, quality assurance activities achieved notable results. The University developed plans for self-assessment and external assessment for 8 academic programs. By the end of 2024, 15 programs had received quality accreditation certificates, and 2 programs were in the process of preparing assessment dossiers according to AUN standards. The University also organized training courses for staff and lecturers on accreditation procedures, and workshops on assessing the attainment of program learning outcomes by students.

Regarding science and technology management, in the 2024–2025 academic year, the University was assigned one Nafosted science and technology project, accepted two city-level science and technology projects, and assigned 63 university-level scientific tasks. Notably, there were 37 international publications, representing a 160% increase compared to the 2023–2024 academic year, and 315 domestic publications, an increase of 150% over the previous year.

In parallel, activities related to facility repair and renovation, and financial management also achieved significant results. Summarizing the 2020–2025 period, the University’s financial management met 100% of the financial indicators in accordance with the higher education institution standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, surpassing the targets and schedule of the University’s development strategy (2025 targets met 70% of national standards). The University issued internal expenditure regulations, developed and implemented bonus payment schemes under Decree No. 73/2024/NĐ-CP, proposed plans for developing technical-economic norms and service pricing, with completion expected in 2025, and carried out a full inventory of public assets as directed by the city.

With these achievements, Hanoi Metropolitan University was awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for its outstanding achievements in providing HNH knowledge training for teachers and students in Hanoi from the 2019–2020 to 2023–2024 academic years, contributing to improving human resource quality and fostering the image of elegant and civilized Hanoi citizens. The University also received a Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi Party Committee for its excellent achievements in implementing the research and application project “Training HNH Knowledge for the 2021–2025 Period with Orientation toward 2030” in Hanoi, and was honored with the “Excellent Unit in the Emulation Movement” flag for fulfilling 2024’s tasks.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the University will concentrate all resources to effectively implement the contents of its Development Plan/Strategy, increase the number of high-qualified lecturers and staff (through recruitment, training, and professional development), and promote the role of employees working at the University. A KPI system will be built and applied across all University activities. Teaching and learning quality will be further enhanced to maintain and strengthen the University’s reputation and brand. Efforts will focus on opening three new undergraduate majors and one new master’s program. Laboratories, practice rooms, and vocational facilities will be used efficiently. Artificial intelligence will be effectively leveraged in the University’s educational, training, scientific, and technological activities. Public assets across the four campuses will be managed and utilized in compliance with regulations.

Alongside the summary conference, the University also organized thematic working sessions with strategic partners in Da Nang. Specifically, three delegations worked in parallel with three major universities: the University of Economics – University of Danang, the University of Technical Education of Danang, and Duy Tan University. During these meetings, the parties engaged in in-depth discussions on quality benchmarking, visited modern educational models (such as the EMVITET project), and signed cooperation agreements, opening up numerous opportunities for sustainable development in the near future.

Beyond the professional activities, the trip also provided opportunities for delegates to participate in an emotional year-end Gala program and engage in various cultural and tourism experiences at famous destinations in Da Nang, contributing to strengthening team cohesion and enriching the spiritual life of faculty and staff.

       The working trip to Da Nang was a resounding success, closing a school year filled with achievements and opening new, promising directions. Hanoi Metropolitan University continues to affirm its role as a dynamic, creative center for training, research, and knowledge transfer, with strong community responsibility and active international integration in the context of current educational reforms.
