Completion of the 5th–6th Training Phases of the National Defense and Security Education Program

Nearly 600 second-year university students participated in the training program.

From August 11 to October 10, 2025, the Department of National Defense and Security Education, under the Faculty of Physical Education – National Defense and Security Education, organized the National Defense and Security Education course for undergraduate students of the 2024–2028 cohort (D2024) from various faculties, including Mathematics and Information Technology, Engineering and Environment, Management and Urban Studies, Foreign Languages, and the Institute of Hanoi Studies and International Training. The course was conducted in accordance with the program prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Students participated in training at Campus 2 – Sóc Sơn, which spans an area of 6 hectares and includes classrooms, auditoriums, training fields, dining halls, and dormitories—fully meeting the teaching and learning requirements of both instructors and students in the National Defense and Security Education program, as well as other military-style activities.

During the course, lecturers from the Faculty of Physical Education – National Defense and Security Education, along with visiting instructors—including veterans and seconded officers with extensive experience in combat and military training—renewed the course content and teaching methods to ensure the highest quality of instruction.

Nearly 600 second-year university students participated in the course and gained a correct understanding of the importance and role of National Defense and Security Education, valuing it as equally essential as their major academic subjects. In addition to attending all classroom and field training sessions, students adhered strictly to military discipline and routines, including morning exercises, group meals, organized dormitory arrangements, formation drills, and participation in extracurricular activities. Many students also took advantage of free time to self-study or seek additional guidance from instructors, demonstrating high motivation and responsibility. As a result, a large proportion of students achieved excellent or good academic results. Except for a few who could not participate from the beginning, most students successfully completed the course and qualified for the National Defense and Security Education certificate.

The Faculty of Physical Education – National Defense and Security Education will continue to conduct reports and evaluations of course outcomes, and propose measures to improve planning, organization, teaching quality, staff development, service operations, and facility enhancement, aiming to further improve the quality and effectiveness of future National Defense and Security Education courses.
