Training on Basic Knowledge of Intellectual Property 2025

On November 21, Hanoi Metropolitan University, in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology (DOST), organized a training course on basic knowledge of intellectual property, aiming to enhance legal awareness and strengthen management capacity as well as the development of innovation activities for lecturers, staff, and students of the University. This was one of the training courses implemented under the 2025 Training and Capacity-Building Plan of Hanoi City.
In the opening remarks of the training course, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology emphasized the role of intellectual property in the context of the digital economy and the necessity of equipping lecturers, staff, and learners with legal knowledge.

A representative of Hanoi Metropolitan University also expressed the University’s commitment to accompanying and implementing training programs and knowledge dissemination activities to enhance learners’ understanding and skills, contributing to the development of an innovation ecosystem within the university.
The training course covered four main topics presented by two professional speakers. During the program, participants were provided with core knowledge on intellectual property, including basic concepts of copyright and related rights, practical handling of copyright infringement, as well as the principles and role of intellectual property in the context of innovation. In addition, the program introduced an overview of industrial property objects and the procedures for registration and protection of industrial property rights, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of the current intellectual property legal system. The contents were delivered through a combination of theory and practical discussion, enabling participants to directly engage with common situations and learn how to apply the knowledge to professional activities, teaching, and scientific research.

The organization of the training course also contributed to the effective implementation of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology’s plan for the year 2025, promoting coordination between the University and the City’s specialized agencies, while creating an important foundation for the development of an intellectual property culture within the university environment.
