Seminar on “Applying AI Technology in Research and Teaching” at Hanoi Metropolitan University
On October 7, the Faculty of Education at Hanoi Metropolitan University organized a scientific seminar titled “Applying AI Technology in Research and Teaching.”
The seminar was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Bùi Quốc Hoàn, Vice Rector; and Dr. Trần Thị Hà Giang, Dean of the Faculty of Education. The event also attracted a large number of scientists, lecturers, and students. It was one of the key activities in the series of events celebrating the 65th anniversary of the university’s tradition and the 10th anniversary of its establishment.
The seminar aimed to share knowledge, practical experiences, and foster discussion on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, while also addressing the challenges this technology presents in teaching and research.

In his speech at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Chairman of the University Council, emphasized the crucial role of AI in opening up new educational methods, enabling lecturers and students to access knowledge in a more personalized and effective way. He affirmed that AI not only offers significant opportunities for the advancement of education but also poses new demands on improving the quality of teacher training. However, he stressed that the use of AI must be carried out ethically and transparently.

The seminar received numerous important scientific reports. Among them, Dr. Phạm Ngọc Sơn, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, presented on the topic "Using AI Tools in Teaching," highlighting the benefits of AI in optimizing the learning process. Another highlight was the report by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Mậu Đức from Hanoi National University of Education, which focused on applying augmented reality (AR) technology in teaching Chemistry—offering a more dynamic and effective teaching approach.

Additionally, Dr. Đặng Xuân Thọ from the Academy of Policy and Development analyzed the opportunities and challenges of applying digital technology and AI in educational data analysis, offering practical recommendations for research and teaching. Many other reports also provided new perspectives on the impact of AI in higher education and the performing arts fields.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to discuss, exchange ideas, and provide important insights on the application of AI in teaching and scientific research. They also proposed new directions for education in the digital era. The seminar contributed to affirming the pioneering role of Hanoi Metropolitan University in applying modern technology to education, aiming to improve training quality and nurture talent for the country.
