Preliminary Survey for the Accreditation of Three Training Programs

A preliminary survey for the accreditation of three training programs—Chinese Language, Educational Management, and Primary Education—was conducted on the morning of June 26, 2021, at Campus 1 of Hanoi Metropolitan University. The activity was held in both in-person and online formats.

Representing the Center for Education Accreditation (VCEA) at Vinh University was Mr. Nguyễn Đình Huy, Deputy Director of the Center. The external assessment team was led by Prof. Dr. Sc. Đặng Ứng Vận, accompanied by other experts. From Hanoi Metropolitan University, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Vũ Bích Hiền, Rector of the University; Prof. Dr. Đặng Văn Soa, Vice Rector; along with faculty and staff.

During the working session, the external assessment team conducted a preliminary review of documentation and supporting evidence, and carried out an initial observation of Campus 1 in Cầu Giấy District, Hanoi. The areas observed included the campus grounds, facilities, and teaching and learning conditions.

Following the preliminary survey, Prof. Dr. Sc. Đặng Ứng Vận, head of the assessment team, provided feedback on key findings from the self-assessment reports and outlined the plan for the official survey. To prepare for the official assessment, he requested that Hanoi Metropolitan University ensure its facilities are fully prepared, that necessary documents and evidence be supplemented, and that the number, composition, and presentation format of supporting evidence be clearly defined.

Next, Prof. Dr. Đặng Văn Soa, Vice Rector, gave an overview of Hanoi Metropolitan University. He emphasized the University's development strategy towards becoming a high-quality training institution, with modern infrastructure, a highly qualified academic staff, and advanced programs and teaching methods. The University’s mission is to uphold and promote the thousand-year cultural legacy of Hanoi by offering distinctive, high-quality services that meet the capital city’s socio-economic development needs.

Speaking at the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Vũ Bích Hiền, Rector of Hanoi Metropolitan University, affirmed the critical role of accreditation in higher education. She stated that the accreditation process provides an objective, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional view of the training programs—from curriculum design, facility investment, and faculty development to internship and practical training connections. Through this process, the University aims to build upon its achievements and address any shortcomings. The ultimate goal, according to Rector Hiền, is to enhance graduate quality, meet societal demands, and strengthen the Hanoi Metropolitan University brand.
