Anne Frank: A history for today

From 30 November to 6 December 2016, the Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) in coordination with Embassy of Israel in Vietnam held an exhibition on “Anne Frank: A History for Today” at HNMU. The event was a chance to share culture, history, people and country of Israel with lectures and students of HNMU.  

From 30 November to 6 December 2016, the Hanoi Metropolitan University (HNMU) in coordination with Embassy of Israel in Vietnam held an exhibition on “Anne Frank: A History for Today” at HNMU. The event was a chance to share culture, history, people and country of Israel with lectures and students of HNMU.

Attending the event were First Secretary of the Israeli Embassy in Viet Nam Ilay Levi, representative of Board of Rector, lectures and students of HNMU…

At the exhibition, the First Secretary of the Israeli Embassy in Viet Nam Ilay Levi talked about World War II and the story of Anne Frank-a Jewish girl who had to go into hiding with her family in Netherlands during the second World War to escape the Nazis. Specially, he talked about Anne Frank’s diary, which people all over the world get to know her story, and are deeply touched. The diary tells the story of Anne Frank against the background of the Holocaust and the Second World War. It shows photographs of Anne Frank’s childhood in Frankfurt and in Amsterdam, and portrays the rise of the Nazis, the persecution of the Jews and the way the people responded to this.

Also at the exhibition, students discussed the knowledge of Israeli history in general and opportunities to study in Israel in the future.
