Eligibility:
Applicants must not be citizens of China
Must be in good physical and academic standing
Must show commitment to teaching Chinese or related work
Age: 16 to 35 years old (as of September 1, 2020)
Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers: up to 45 years old
Undergraduate student applicants: not older than 25 years
Language Requirements:
One-Year Program: Minimum HSK Level 4 score of 180, and HSKK Intermediate score of 60
One-Semester Program:
Chinese Language: Minimum HSK Level 3 score of 210 (HSKK preferred)
Chinese Language & Literature: Minimum HSK Level 3 score of 180, and HSKK score required
Application Procedure:
Step 1: Online application available from March 1, 2020 at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website: http://cis.chinese.cn
Step 2: Log in to search for recommending institutions and host institutions
Step 3: Upload application documents online (details in the provided link)
Step 4: Scholarship holders must confirm study arrangements with the host institution, print the scholarship certificate online, and register at the host university on the date specified in the admission letter
Application Deadlines:
May 10, 2020 (for programs starting September 2020)
November 10, 2020 (for one-semester programs starting March 2021)
April 10, 2020 (for 4-week programs starting July 2020)
September 10, 2020 (for 4-week programs starting December 2020)
