As part of an educational ecosystem that promotes liberal education and holistic development, the Sports Coaching program (Program Code: 7140207) is identified as one of the key and strategic academic programs of Hanoi Metropolitan University. The program is directly managed and delivered by the Faculty of Physical Education, National Defense and Security Education.

This full-time undergraduate program is designed to be completed over four years, with a minimum requirement of 130 credits, following a highly application-oriented training approach. Notably, in 2026, the program officially launches its first enrollment cycle with an expected quota of 50 students, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the University’s admissions scheme.

Students enrolled in the program will be equipped with a comprehensive body of specialized knowledge in sports science and biomedical sciences, combined with professional competencies to design and manage systematic short-term and long-term training cycles, optimize athletic performance, and effectively administer physical activity programs aimed at improving community health.

Hanoi Metropolitan University proactively embraces digital transformation in the era of Industry 4.0 by integrating wearable technologies, health-monitoring sensors, and specialized performance analysis software such as Kinovea and Dartfish into the Sports Coaching curriculum. At the same time, students are expected to achieve foreign language proficiency at Level 3 of the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework (equivalent to IELTS 4.5 or TOEIC 450 and above), develop information technology skills, and cultivate an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.

Guided by the principle of “practice-oriented learning,” students gain extensive hands-on experience through training placements at national sports training centers and field-based learning activities, enhancing their adaptability and practical problem-solving abilities in real-world professional settings.

The quality of the program is ensured by a team of experienced and reputable lecturers, including Associate Professors, PhDs, and highly qualified Master's degree holders. Most learning activities are conducted within the University’s modern and well-equipped facilities.

Campus 2 (Soc Son), covering an area of 7 hectares, features a standard indoor sports hall and a comprehensive system of football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts. In particular, Campus 4 (Thuong Tin), spanning 27 hectares, includes two indoor sports complexes, one of which is a standard sports arena with seating capacity for 1,000 spectators, a standard 400-meter athletics track, and both seven-a-side and eleven-a-side football fields. All classrooms are fully equipped with air conditioning, projectors, and high-speed internet access to support teaching, learning, and research activities.

Upon graduation, Bachelor of Sports Coaching graduates may pursue a wide range of career opportunities, including positions as professional coaches or assistant coaches at sports clubs and training centers; physical education teachers or lecturers; sports event coordinators; sports performance analysts and technical specialists; and consultants in exercise and health promotion programs at sports organizations, educational institutions, enterprises, and government agencies.

In addition, graduates will possess a solid academic and professional foundation for lifelong learning, advanced research activities, and further studies at Master's and Doctoral levels both in Vietnam and internationally.
