2. Establishment

The University Health Station originated from the establishment and development of Hanoi College of Education in 1959.

3. Development History

When it was first established, the University's healthcare unit was organized as the Medical Team under the Office of Administration and Management. Its primary responsibilities were to provide healthcare services for lecturers, staff, students, and pupils, as well as to implement disease prevention and control activities within the University.

Period 1959–2000: Medical Team

From 1959 to 1979, the Medical Team was led by Ms. Hoang Kim Phung.. From 1980 to 1982, the Medical Team consisted of three staff members and was led by Ms. Nguyen Thi My. TFrom 1983 to 1993, the Medical Team expanded to six staff members and was led by Dr. Doan Thi Lan.

From 1993 to 2000, following the merger of the Teacher Training School into Hanoi College of Education, the Medical Team consisted of four staff members, with Dr. Doan Thi Lan serving as Head of the Team.

Period 2001–2013: Health Division

In 2001, the Medical Team was separated from the Office of Administration and Management and reorganized into the Health Division, headed by Dr. Doan Thi Lan. From 2006 to May 2012, the Health Division consisted of three staff members and was led by Dr. Ta Thi Thinh. From May 2012 to February 2013, the Head of the Health Division was Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu.

Period 2013–Present: University Health Station

Since March 2013, under the University's new Organization and Operation Regulations, the Health Division was renamed the University Health Station. The University Health Station of Hanoi Metropolitan University was officially established under Decision No. 731/QĐ-ĐHTĐHN dated 18 December 2015.

4. Functions and Responsibilities

Functions

The University Health Station assists the President of Hanoi Metropolitan University in protecting, educating, and providing healthcare services for students, officials, employees, and workers in accordance with legal regulations and the University's policies.

Responsibilities

4.1. Develop annual operational plans and budgets for the University Health Station based on each academic year and training program.

4.2. Organize healthcare management and health services for students, officials, employees, and workers, including:

a) Conducting annual health examinations and health classification.

b) Managing and maintaining health records.

c) Providing first aid, emergency care, medical examination, basic healthcare services, and common medication distribution; referring patients to higher-level healthcare facilities when necessary.

4.3. Provide health communication, education, and consultation; encourage students to participate in health insurance programs.

4.4. Monitor school hygiene, environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control, food safety, injury prevention, and other school healthcare activities.

4.5. Coordinate with local healthcare facilities and relevant agencies in implementing school healthcare programs and other medical activities.

4.6. Take the lead and coordinate with University departments and organizations in implementing school healthcare activities and building a healthy, safe educational environment.

4.7. Prepare preliminary reviews, annual summaries, and reports on the implementation of school healthcare activities according to regulations.

4.8. Perform other tasks assigned by the University President.

5. Major Achievements and Development Orientation

Since its establishment, generations of healthcare staff at Hanoi Metropolitan University have continuously demonstrated dedication and responsibility in providing healthcare services for officials, lecturers, employees, students, preventing diseases, and maintaining environmental hygiene. As a result, the University Health Station has consistently fulfilled its assigned responsibilities and successfully implemented disease prevention measures, ensuring a safe and healthy learning and working environment throughout the University.

In recognition of its contributions to healthcare protection and improvement for staff, teachers, and students, as well as to the University's educational mission, the Health Division has received numerous prestigious awards, including: Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training (2001). Certificate of Merit from the People's Committee of Hanoi (2002). Commendations from Hanoi Social Security for many consecutive years.
