Opening Ceremony of the Official External Assessment Survey on Educational Institution Quality at Hanoi Metropolitan University – Cycle 2

On the morning of July 19, 2025, Hanoi Metropolitan University held the Opening Ceremony of the Official External Evaluation Survey on Educational Institution Quality – Cycle 2, Period 2020–2025. This is an important activity to accredit and assess educational quality in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, while affirming the University’s commitment to improving the quality of training, research, and community service.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the External Evaluation Team and Thang Long Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, led by Dr. Nguyễn Văn Đường – Director of the Center – as Head of the Delegation, along with experts and assessors from reputable higher education institutions. On behalf of Hanoi Metropolitan University, the event welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn – Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường – Rector of the University, along with leaders of departments, members of the Self-Assessment Council, and specialized task groups.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, a representative of the Thang Long Center for Educational Quality Accreditation announced the decision to establish the External Evaluation Team and presented the objectives and content of the survey. On behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Hồng Cường expressed trust and expectations that this survey will help the University comprehensively and objectively assess the quality of its training activities, thereby identifying strategic solutions for sustainable development in the upcoming period.

At the event, a representative of the University's Self-Assessment Council presented a summary report on the self-assessment process of Hanoi Metropolitan University for the 2020–2025 period. Accordingly, the University has developed a well-structured self-assessment plan, mobilized the coordinated participation of functional units, collected sufficient evidence, and built a detailed and transparent self-assessment report in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The official external evaluation will take place over five days, from July 19 to July 23, 2025, including activities such as: reviewing evidence documents, conducting in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholder groups (lecturers, students, alumni, employers, administrators…), surveying facilities, attending lectures, and working directly with the University leadership and the Self-Assessment Council.
Through this assessment, Hanoi Metropolitan University aims to continue enhancing quality, improving its internal quality assurance system, and gradually building a smart, multidisciplinary, internationally integrated university model that effectively fulfills its mission of serving the development of Hanoi and the country.
