Final Round of the University-Level Student Scientific Research Awards, Academic Year 2025–2026

From 80 initially registered research projects, Hanoi Metropolitan University selected 6 outstanding projects for the Final Round of the Student Scientific Research Awards for the 2025–2026 academic year. The research topics covered a wide range of fields, from education, literature, artificial intelligence to digital consumer behavior. Scientific research provides students with opportunities to apply professional knowledge, approach modern research methodologies, and take their first steps in contributing to the process of knowledge creation.

On the morning of June 9, the Youth Union of Hanoi Metropolitan University organized the Final Round of the Student Scientific Research Awards for the 2025–2026 academic year. The program was an important academic activity aimed at honoring outstanding student research projects while inspiring a spirit of inquiry, creativity, and scientific research capacity among students of the University.

Attending the program was Dr. Nguyen Thi Hao, Principal Researcher and Deputy Director of the Center for Human Resource Development Research, Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences. Representing Hanoi Metropolitan University were Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Vice President of the University; Dr. Dinh Thi Kim Thuong, Head of the Office of Science, Technology Management and Development Cooperation; MA. Ha Thu Thuy, Secretary of the University Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs; together with representatives of university units, lecturers, and outstanding students of Hanoi Metropolitan University.

According to the Organizing Committee, from the initial 80 registered projects, the 6 most outstanding research projects were selected for the final round. Each research group had a maximum of 15 minutes to present their work, followed by direct discussion with the Evaluation Committee. This format enabled students not only to demonstrate their research results but also to develop critical thinking, argumentation skills, and the ability to receive professional feedback.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Vice President of the University, and Chairman of the Evaluation Committee, acknowledged the serious preparation of the student research groups participating in the final round. He emphasized that the final presentation was not only an opportunity for students to present their research findings but also a chance to improve their communication skills, defend scientific perspectives, and develop comprehensive academic competencies. Dr. Tran Anh Tuan highlighted that scientific research does not end with completing a written project; researchers must also be able to present, discuss, and disseminate the value of their work in academic forums. These skills will become important foundations helping students become more confident in their future studies, research activities, and careers. He also encouraged all research groups to remain calm, confident, and perform their best in the final presentations.

At the final round, 6 student research teams presented outstanding projects in diverse fields. The topics focused on current issues closely connected to practical contexts, including: the impact of modern mathematics education trends on learning outcomes; factors influencing students’ learning motivation; the image of Hanoi in Nguyễn Trương Quý’s essays; the application of artificial intelligence in predicting learning outcomes and providing personalized learning recommendations; Gen Z’s impulse buying behavior on TikTok; and the use of DeepSeek as a supporting tool for developing speaking skills among English Language students.

The research teams came from different faculties and disciplines of Hanoi Metropolitan University under the guidance of lecturers and scientists of the University. A common feature of these projects was that they originated from practical issues related to learning, culture, technology, and society; while also demonstrating students’ ability to apply modern research methods, critical thinking, and creativity.

After the presentations of the 6 research teams, the Evaluation Committee conducted discussions and posed critical questions for each project. The comments focused on research novelty, methodology, practical applicability, and future development directions of each work. Through direct exchanges, students had opportunities to clarify their research outcomes, defend their scientific viewpoints, and receive valuable professional feedback from the Committee.

After the presentations of the 6 research teams, the Evaluation Committee conducted discussions and posed critical questions for each project. The feedback focused on research novelty, methodology, practical applicability, and further improvement directions. Through these exchanges, student researchers had opportunities to clarify their findings, defend their scientific perspectives, and receive valuable academic recommendations from the Committee.

In the final results, the Organizing Committee awarded two First Prizes to the research teams conducting the projects: “A Meta-analysis Synthesis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Validation Study on the Impact of Modern Mathematics Education Trends on Learners’ Academic Outcomes” and “Factors Influencing Impulse Buying Behavior on TikTok Among Gen Z in Hanoi City.” Four Second Prizes were awarded to the remaining research teams with the projects: “Assessing Factors Affecting Students’ Learning Motivation at Hanoi Metropolitan University Using Multiple Regression Analysis”; “Hanoi in the Essays of Nguyễn Trương Quý”; “Developing an Early Learning Outcome Prediction and Personalized Learning Recommendation System Based on Hybrid Artificial Intelligence Models and Neutrosophy”; and “Applying DeepSeek as a Supporting Tool for Developing Speaking Skills among English Language Students at Hanoi Metropolitan University.”

            For higher education institutions, scientific research is one of the important factors contributing to improving training quality, connecting teaching activities with practical requirements and social development trends. Through this activity, Hanoi Metropolitan University continues to affirm its orientation toward building a higher education environment associated with research, practice, and innovation; encouraging students to actively explore knowledge, develop scientific thinking, critical reasoning abilities, and problem-solving skills to address challenges arising from real life.
